Regional Forum Colchester 9th June 2016

28 people attended Langham community centre for this years visit into Essex for the Regional Forum.

 Marcus Sibley from the Environment Agency presented the 1st item on what they provide for anglers, supported by Adam Clark on various projects within the Area.

Paul Thomas the AT Regional Enforcement Manager presented the work in setting up the Voluntary Bailiffing Service and how the police are actively becoming involved with fish theft.

James Lews presented the work undertaken on participation and getting people into angling. Followed by a passionate talk by Nick Watkins on junior engagement in Essex.. 

Many questions were put to the presenters during the forum, which gave the event a very open and transparant view on what is being done to progress fisheries and angling within the area,

Regional Forum Grantham 27th April 2016

Greg Oakes 60031 people attended Great Gonerby Social Club for this years visit into Lincolnshire for the Regional Forum.

Greg Oakes from the Environment Agency presented the 1st item on Poaching and Fish Theft.

Paul Thomas the AT Regional Enforcement Manager presented the work in setting up the Voluntary Bailiffing Service and how the police are actively becomming involved with fish theft.

Ray Torrington presented the work undertaken by Deeping St James AC in improving fisheries and protecting your fisheries and how the club raised the funds to achieve this. Ray's content is available here. 

Chris Reeds a lead fisheries officer from the EA gave a insight into the habitat improvements and the benefits they bring to fish on several of the local rivers.

Many questions were put to the presenters during the forum, which gave the event a very open and transparant view on what is being done to progress fisheries and angling within the area,

 

 

   

AIF Completed fence 1 800

This is a picture of the Otter protection fence installed by Deeping St James on their venue Horseshoe Lake adjacent to the Nene Valley Railway. It was partly funded through Rod Licence income via the Angling Improvement Fund. Which Ray Torrington presented during the forum.

This was one of many investments the Angling Improvement Fund supported during last year throughout England with Rod Licence money. For more information on the AIF click here.
