River Wensum Partnership Creation
At the regional forum held in Norwich back in 2016, the agency formally announced it could no longer resource its commitment to the Wensum Fisheries Action Plan. This was something close to many long term Wensum anglers and came about through the formation of NACA a decade earlier, continued for decade.
I asked the meeting attended by nearly 50 anglers, who wanted to put some love back into the river and received a unanimous show of hands.
This is where the journey started and in 2019 I launched Wensum Catchment Partnership with Cass Singleton and Tim Ellis, building on the foundation of a review of the previous two decades of effort in a paper called Wensum Past Present & Future.
We were then struck by the pandemic and in 2021, the Catchment Partnership started to gain further momentum and in 2022 it has strength across many stakeholders.
