This report discusses the positive progress being made in addressing Prymnesium within the Upper Thurne and that the Broads National Park remains one of the best natural river coarse fisheries in the UK, this study into last year’s Prymnesuim outbreak has concluded.

A spokesman for a task group formed from the Environment Agency, Broads Angling Strategy Group, Broads Authority, Natural England, Pike Anglers Group, Broads IDB and Scientists from John Innes said the park boasts healthy fish populations and that the group’s focus was on understanding the life cycle and how best to deal with any incident as well as longer term management techniques.
“For tourism this remains a highly positive message with many anglers being rewarded with great catches from one of the most idyllic venues in the UK,” he said.
