The group which formed in November 2016 by a group of like minded anglers passionate about the River Wensum, following the demise of the Wensum fishery action plan previously led by the Environment Agency. The river which rises at Whissonsett to the west of Fakenham and flows into the River Yare at Norwich. This iconic river has lost much of it's former glory when it was a weekly adventure for John Wilson on TV catching prime chub, roach and barbel.
We need a new fresh approach and as with many other rivers across the UK the Rivers Trust has created a framework to support this with both EA and AT support.
Your Fisheries has the potential to work for the Wensum and deliver a strong framework for reporting and planning.
