This meeting is free to attend and open to all. It is aimed at ALL freshwater anglers, Coarse and Game. It is a key opportunity to hear about the work of the Environment Agency and Angling Trust and is a chance to tell us what YOU think our priorities should be. Plus updates from key organisations in your area.


    • What problems does Agriculture pose for the health of our rivers ?
    • How do we change farming practices to avoid run off into our rivers
    • Why could Brexit be the key to a huge reduction in the amount of fertilisers, pesticides and silt that is washed into our rivers every year ?

The coarse fish close season debate - let us know your opinion: The Angling Trust John Cheyne leads a debate with all attendees on whether the current Coarse Fish Close Season should be retained. Come along and have your say !

28 people attended Langham community centre for this years visit into Essex for the Regional Forum.

 Marcus Sibley from the Environment Agency presented the 1st item on what they provide for anglers, supported by Adam Clark on various projects within the Area.

Paul Thomas the AT Regional Enforcement Manager presented the work in setting up the Voluntary Bailiffing Service and how the police are actively becoming involved with fish theft.

James Lews presented the work undertaken on participation and getting people into angling. Followed by a passionate talk by Nick Watkins on junior engagement in Essex.. 

Many questions were put to the presenters during the forum, which gave the event a very open and transparant view on what is being done to progress fisheries and angling within the area,
